Okay, time to lift the curtain a bit.

I've been getting a lot of great and supportive emails, but most of you are asking why I started putting up RPG World content, so long after I appeared to be abandoning the project. Am I signaling a triumphant return? Am I just stringing everyone along again? I don't know what the answer is but maybe I can answer it here.

When I declared RPG World on indefinite hiatus I gave a number of reasons- I didn't have the time, I wasn't satisfied with the work I was putting out, and I was becoming creatively burnt out. While these are true the main reason what my exponentially increasing disinterest towards the material. I got bored of the comic, straight up. I drew it for four years and I came up with it at 15. I never thought I'd be writing Shakespeare or anything but looking back at the comic archives became embarrassing. But it wasn't only that- I was frustrated towards RPG World because it seemed to hold me back from other creative projects. I had to finish this one. I tried taking some time off and returning but it never worked. RPG World hung over my head like it was some kind of burden.

Which is all really dumb. It's just a stupid web comic and I don't know why I felt so pressured that I had to walk away from it, but I just did. At a cliffhanger. Before a big climactic battle. Dick move, I know. Apologies for those blue balls everyone.

Every month or so since I declared hiatus I re-read the RPG World archives. Mostly to see if I can re-start my love for the comic and somehow return or do SOMETHING with it. Well a few weeks ago I was doing a read through and I decided I'd start updating the site again. With SOMETHING.

I'm not going to promise a revival of the comic. I have to say that right now. I don't know what the future is for this. But I'm going to put up as much relevant material as I can in the meantime and draw some new RPGW stuff every once in a while.

Again: Can't promise you anything. But for now I'm just putting up stuff for the benefit of the people who stop by every day just to check if I put something up. Thanks for reading.

Speaking of reading, a few people emailed me about the accuracy some mean words attributed to me on the RPG World Wikipedia page. Eheheh... yeah I truly did say that. But as a clarification, it was directed towards the inhabitants of the now-locked Keenspot forum.

That forum had become a hive of lamers who posted nothing but off-topic posts, porno, and RPG World-bashing. The last person to ask about RPG World in there got a "who gives a shit?" and a Monty Python quote. Angry at my hiatus, they would even go to the lengths to find other artwork I did and insult it. The whole forum was so awful I got Keenspot to deep-six it, and against my better judgment I threw in a personal dig. It's mean but I really didn't like that forum and its my fault it got that way.

So there's no forum anymore, but if you want to discuss anything RPGW related, try the RPGW Livejournal community. If you want to check out what I'm up to, my blog is here.

Til next time.
